Gold Gin is the fourth song off KISS' self titled debut album. The album version removed nearly a minute of the song’s original arrangement, with the second guitar solo being cut and the outro section shortened. This was simply a matter of the song being edited and tightened up. Another difference is Paul’s shout following the guitar solo/break section where “whoa yeah!” replaces the original “Whoa! Alright! C’mon!”

In Their Own Words[]
Ace Frehley - "I wrote Cold Gin in a subway in my head, lyrics, music (laughs). I had a spiral notebook with me. I can write songs in my head and I know what the chords are. I never took a guitar lesson, nobody believes that. I didnt realize it was gunna become a KISS classic.

Lyrics[]
Whoo, alright
My heaters broke and Im so tired
I need some fuel to build a fire
The girl next door, her lights are out, yeah
The landlords gone, Im down and out
Ooh, its cold gin time again
You know itll always win
Cold gin time again
You know its the only thing
That keeps us together, ow
Its time to leave and get another quart
Around the corner at the liquor store
Haha, the cheapest stuff is all I need
To get me back on my feet again
Ooh, its cold gin time again
You know itll always win
Its cold gin time again
You know its the only thing
That keeps us together, ow
Whoa yeah
Ooh, its cold gin time again
You know itll always win
Its cold gin time again
You know its the only thing
That keeps us together, ow
